Baz (Full Name Basildon after the town where his mother first met his Father) is not the most gifted or popular child in his school - in fact if it wasn’t for bad luck he wouldn't have any luck at all. However, when he finds a Tamagotchi things definitely take a turn for the better - all of a sudden he's a mathematical genius! But at what cost? When his school enters him into the popular television quiz 'What's your number?' the tamagotchi shows itself in an entirely different light. World Domination? Maybe. Find out in Mrs Jeesop and the Math's Lesson of Doom. Based on the mathematics curriculum for Primary Schools, it explores number patterns, mental calculations and deduction. There will be two performances - 10.30am and 1.30pm.

The painter, Marcello, and the writer, Rodolfo, share a Parisian garret studio. It is Christmas Eve and both young men are poor and cold. Soon they are joined by two more Bohemian acquaintances - the philosopher, Colline, and the musician, Schaunard. The latter has recently earned a little money and so the friends decide to go off and celebrate in the Latin Quarter, first, skillfully avoiding paying rent to the landlord, Benoit.
 
RIGOLETTO (Ellen Kent Opera)

The action takes place in Mantua in the 16th century. In the ducal palace a lavish party is in progress and the Duke of Mantua soon declares his personal creed of taking pleasure as and when he can find it. His jester, Rigoletto, offers an ironic commentary on the Duke’s actions as the latter flirts with the Countess Ceprano. Incensed by Rigoletto’s mockery, Count Ceprano arranges for a number of courtiers to meet at his dwelling that evening. Monterone, whose daughter has been seduced by the Duke, interrupts the gathering; also openly derided by Rigoletto, Monterone issues a curse on the Duke and his jester. On for one night only in Manchester.
