I don't suppose there is any chance of Burnham letting the Council Tax payers of Manchester how much he and the Council have squandered on that white elephant homeless shelter that closed on Christmas eve and hasn't opened since, or is he just gonna tack the loss on to this years Council tax bills?  :-\

Newcastle rough sleepers tell their stories

There were 4,677 people sleeping rough in England in autumn 2018, according to official estimates.

The figure represents a slight fall of 74 on 2017, however rises were recorded in London, the Midlands, north-east and Yorkshire and the Humber.

Numbers are still up 2,909 since the start of the decade, with charities calling for "fundamental action to tackle the root causes".

The government has pledged £100m over two years to tackle rough sleeping.

It will trial schemes in Greater Manchester, Merseyside and the West Midlands where people are given housing without first being required to give up drugs or alcohol, a model which has been hailed a success in Finland.

The figures are only a single night snapshot, with councils either counting or estimating the number of rough sleepers.

London saw an increase from 1,137 to 1,283.

Birmingham went from 57 rough sleepers in 2017 to 91. Manchester's figure increased from 94 to 123.

However Brighton and Hove, which had one of the highest rates of rough sleeping in previous years, dropped from 178 to 64.

Burnham promised free bus travel for 16-19 year olds in his campaign to become "Mayor" , he said at the time that local bus companies would fund them with a smaller contribution from college's, well now it turns out that the funding is not forthcoming and next year all us suckers that pay council tax are having £15 tacked onto our bills on top of his "precept" next year, so we are paying to fund his election promises, it's good isn't it? Last year it was pay up for more coppers, but I haven't seen any evidence of that, and hows eradicating rough sleeping by 2020 going Andy? Oh I forgot you blamed the Government for not making progress with that, did anyone expect anything else from this leech?

Temperature in the City didn't go lower than 20 deg. last night. Building apartments there is stupid. Filling every empty space, when there should be more green areas.
Politicians and nappies must be changed often, and for the same reason

Andy Burnham has slammed the authorities who oversaw the infection of thousands of NHS patients with contaminated blood since the 1970s. The Greater Manchester Mayor gave evidence to the Infected Blood Inquiry in London today (July 15), saying that victims and their families need accountability from the public bodies at fault, just like those involved in the Hillsborough disaster.

Why does this clown view everything through the prism of Hillsborough?
. Wasn't he the health secretary and blundered at North Staffs? Why didn't he act then?
Will he be as vocal for the 'vaccine injured? Caused by people like him that dealt the wuflu poison to the population. :-\

Andy Burnham is set to hit the decks, with a DJ set confirmed on Ancoats restaurant and bar Ramona. The Mayor of Greater Manchester will be pitching up with his box of seven-inches on August 3.

I wonder what his box of 7 inches will include, 'Money for nothing' maybe?
  Pillock.  ::)
