Points deduction, as well as a severe punishment for the offenders.

Funny how these morons can get so worked up about a sports game but don't seem to give a monkeys about having their country destroyed and taken off them. Twisted priorities hardly even begins to describe it.

I've sussed this little mystery out. The players who voted for this ludicrously overrated wastrel did it out of gratitude for the huge contribution he has made to United's decline and fall from the top table.

With that in mind, I've even found myself starting to warm to the little scamp myself just lately. A tiny bit, anyway.

LET'S HEAR IT FOR PAUL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Liverpool erased the disappointment of last season's Champions League final loss by claiming the trophy for the sixth time with victory over Tottenham in Madrid.

It was Mohamed Salah, such a disconsolate figure when he was injured early in that loss to Real Madrid, who set Liverpool on their way with a penalty after two minutes when Moussa Sissoko was contentiously punished for handball.

In a final that rarely touched the heights of the blockbuster semi-finals that made this an all-Premier League showpiece, Spurs had chances but were denied by Liverpool keeper Alisson, who saved well from Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Christian Eriksen.

And their failure to capitalise was ruthlessly punished when substitute Divock Origi ensured manager Jurgen Klopp won his first trophy as Liverpool manager by driving low and powerfully past Hugo Lloris with three minutes left.

Spurs counterpart Mauricio Pochettino took the gamble of selecting England captain and main striker Harry Kane despite his not having played since April because of an ankle injury, replacing semi-final hat-trick hero Lucas Moura, but he had no impact.

Liverpool lifted the trophy that was taken from their grasp in Ukraine last season and now stand behind only Real Madrid and AC Milan as serial winners of this tournament, the final whistle sparking huge celebrations among players, management and the red wave of supporters in Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.

Media gushing over the Lionesses. Not the match I watched, poor short passing, passing to the other side, playing bunched up. Saying that, they could have won,but for the clinical finishing of the World Champions. Nearly 12 million watching.

Insanely overrated wastrel Paul Pogba announces that he's looking for a fresh challenge. How about trying to stay awake for a ninety minute game of football? That might be a good start.

Got to question his attitude as well. Why would anyone in their right mind even consider going to China, where the standard of football is roughly the equivalent of the South West Peninsula League, unless they were so deeply in love with money that little else matters to them? There can be no doubt that if Penzance were, by some bizarre set of circumstances, able to offer him a twenty million pound signing-on fee with another million a week on top then Penlee Park is where he would go. This might give us an insight into Mr Zidane's reasons for being so desperate to offload Mr Bale; perhaps he is losing his motivation to excel at the highest levels?
