Just after the m62 was built about 1962? Ken would play the pubs and clubs of Manchester.I saw him at the Royal Oak Hotel Wythenshawe  at one of the regular Friday Nite concerts. He had outlandish long hair long before anyone else.It took alot of nerve at that time to wear long hair, but the kids loved it, which was good enough for Ken.
I also had the pleasure of  seeing him in action at the Hume Hippodrome for a BBC radio recording.Frankie Howard who Ken had alot of admiration for was also on the bill.He past away shortly afterwards.

I saw him at the Palace Theatre in the 70's he was fantastic, a very very funny man, at the end of the night they couldn't get him off the stage, a great entertainer.
