Local Election
« on: 10:08:24, 28/04/18 »
The only candidate who has knocked on the door is the Liberal one - I missed my chance, I should have remonstrated about the state of the footpaths in my area - I believe councils are paying out large amounts to people who have had accidents because of uneven paving flags etc.

Have you had visits from candidates, and what would you have complained about?

Only The labour councilor knocked on our door but I must admit I’ve had dealings with him in the past and I must admit I’m reasonably happy with my local councillors

Ours are pretty powerless against the State. 80 years trying for a Byepass.
We will most likely see a start next year, why? because most likely Hauliers have lobbied for it. It will only remove one bottleneck. Glossop and Tintwistle will still be choked with traffic and kids still breathe the pollution.
Politicians and nappies must be changed often, and for the same reason

The Liebour lot shoved leaflet through my door on two occasions and scuttled away, they know it's a done deal for them, they know they don't need to try, the few times I have raised issues with our local councillor or her predecessor she's not been much cop I'm afraid

Not one candidate came around . Just like me voting.
Not one candidate X up.

Not interested in keeping this charade up. Three councillors for an area ? What for?

We are using a form of representation that was developed hundreds of years ago.

Let's go techo. No more electing for years let's have live voting weekly. Via phone .they do bad there out instantly.

Isn't it good eh? Liebour MP Dan Jarvis has been elected as Mayor but intends to carry on as an MP......kerching!
I wonder if he'll save the taxpayer some dough and take one salary  :-\

Noticed Trafford council had lost two seats, I hoped it would be Sean Anstiss who had gone, he said he would have to think about what new steps to take, I think his using his position as councillor to try and become the Manchester mayor showed where his ambition lay, and then maybe try to become a MP - as you said 'kerching'

If there's a trough a politician will always get his snout in, whether local or national.

Very sad to see the results.

Nothing will change . Trafford are now about to see council tax going up to pay for less services.
