It was a 93 year old and a 95 year old who were targetted last week in separate incidents  :(

Lets hope he's caught before he gets more victims. >:(

In the case of the 93year old lady the attacker was a17year old lad who handed himself in the day after.

A video of a man being punched during a bike robbery in Manchester City Centre is being investigated by officers.

Footage of the brutal attack - which took place on Oxford Road near to Camelord Chemist about 7.20pm on Tuesday 4 September 2018 - has been circulating on social media after a passer-by filmed the incident unfolding.

One of the thieves repeatedly punched the victim in the face in a bid to steal his bike but the cyclist refused to let go and was dragged across the floor at one point as he clung to the bike.

After the offenders realised the man was not going to let go, and a crowd gathered to watch the ordeal, they fled towards Peter Street.

The men are both black and described as being aged between 15 and 20.

The bike will be recovered for forensic examination and the video footage is being downloaded to use as evidence and identify the robbers.

GMP’s Manchester City Centre Chief Inspector Cherie Buttle said: “This was a violent, vicious and shameless robbery that took place on one of the city centre’s biggest and busiest roads.

“An innocent man was apprehended and attacked senselessly all for his bike. No one should ever be scared to cycle or walk our streets and disgusting attacks like this will not ever be tolerated.

“We are making contact with the victim and we are carrying out lots of work to identify the mindless men who did this.

“Unfortunately, the person who filmed the incident is yet to come forward to police and I would personally urge them to contact us immediately as they were a key witness and could hold vital information.

“I would also urge anyone else who recognises the men in the footage, or who saw something, to get in touch.

“Dedicated officers patrol the city during the day and night and the images have been circulated to them too. Robbery is a high priority for us in the city and we have a dedicated team to tackling this issue.

“We will continue to do everything we can to make our city feel safe and if you do have any concerns then please stop us.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 0161 856 6322, quoting incident number 1875 of 4 September 2018, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Manchester will be getting a bad reputation if they don't clear our streets of this sort of behaviour.

I'm sure they come from poor backgrounds, subjected to deprivation, racism blah, blah, blah, I'm sure there is an explanation, so they decided to pick a while guy and deprive him of his bike.  ::)

A cathedral in the city centre has been damaged by graffiti.

Around 11.45pm on Thursday 6 September 2018, police were called to Manchester Cathedral to reports of criminal damage.

Officers attended and discovered the graffiti, which is in the process of being removed.

This is being treated as a hate crime and enquiries are ongoing.

Chief Inspector Cherie Buttle of GMP’s City of Manchester Division, said: “This is a religiously aggravated attack, which has not only caused damage to a building but has caused upset to those who attend.

“The graffiti is beneath a statue at the graffiti and, due to the size of it, someone may have noticed it happening.

“Hopefully those attending the festival there today will be able to enjoy themselves, despite this disgusting incident.”

Police are appealing for information after a house in Burnage was ransacked during a robbery.

Shortly after 11:10pm on Wednesday 29 August 2018, two masked men entered the property on Burnage Lane and demanded the elderly man living at the address hand over valuables.

The offenders then proceeded to tear the house apart searching for items to steal before leaving a short time later with a quantity of cash.

Thankfully nobody was injured during the robbery.

Both offenders are described as white men wearing black clothing and balaclavas.

Detective Constable Jonathan Urmson, of GMP’s City of Manchester, said: “The offenders left this man feeling absolutely terrified after they broke into his home and confronted him, demanding he hand over anything valuable.

“As if that wasn’t bad enough, they then tore his house to shreds searching for anything they could get their hands on and use to make a bit of money.

“If you think that you have any information that can assist us then please contact police immediately.”

Anybody with information should contact police on 0161 856 6198, quoting incident number 2302 of 29/08/18, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

A man has been jailed after forcing a woman to live through years of sexual abuse as a child.

Kenneth Parker (31/01/1956) of Sovereign Hall Caravan Park, Mossley has today, Thursday 6 September 2018, been sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court to 12 years in prison.

He previously pleaded guilty to two counts of indecently assaulting a child as well as being found guilty of two counts of committing indecency with a child and a further two counts of indecently assaulting a child.

During the 1980s – when the woman was a young girl – Parker regularly subjected her to horrific sexual abuse twice, sometimes, three times a week, every week for eight years.

The abuse carried on right through to her teenage years but Parker managed to get away with his depraved secret life.

Detective Constable Ray Hooper, of Greater Manchester Police, said: “Parker forced his victim to live with and carry the burden of his sexual abuse for more than 30 years, leaving her to feel that no-one would see him as the monster he is.

“Today has not been easy for the woman, having to wait until now to see her abuser finally face the consequences of the torturous years he put her through but, thanks to her courage, her strength and her determination, Parker is about to begin a lengthy prison sentence, to live a lonely life behind bars.”

Officers are keen to locate a man after a teenager was sexually assaulted while he was fishing in #Rochdale.

Police were called to reports that a 14-year-old boy had been sexually assaulted by the canal near to Hollingworth Road, Littleborough around 5.20pm yesterday evening (Tuesday 4 September).

The teenager had been fishing when he was approached by a man who told him to head to another body of water a short distance away as he’d have better chance of attracting fish.

When he moved to that location, he was sexually assaulted by the man before managing to run away to safety.

The boy is being supported by specially trained officers and enquiries to locate a man are ongoing.

The man officers want to speak to is described as white, around 60-years-old, 5ft 9in tall, of small build with balding white hair, a slight beard and a jumper.

Detective Sergeant Paul Davies of GMP’s Rochdale Borough, said: “We’ve been in the area where the offence took place to gather as much evidence as we can and, from what we know at the moment, a man matching this same description was seen near to the canal a few days ago.

“If anyone has seen a man matching the description – it may be that he is local to the area or a frequent visitor – or saw anyone acting suspiciously last night, please get in touch with us as soon as you possibly can.

“While I understand this is extremely concerning for people who live nearby, we are supporting the teenager and will do everything we can to find that person responsible.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 8441 quoting reference number 1851 of 04/09/18 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.

Regarding the graffiti on the Cathedral, this appeared after some weird Goth type "ceremony" to lay the ghost of Diana to rest occurred nearby, any connection there I wonder?
