The exhibition at the city's Central Library includes classic artists like Oasis, Joy Division and Buzzcocks and newer acts like IAMDDB and Pale Waves.

It also includes images from the One Love Manchester concert that followed the Manchester Arena attack in 2017.

Contributor and curator Jill Furmanovsky said she hoped it was a show the city could "keep forever".

Wish I could get up there to take it in. But we won't be going to God's Own City until Easter, unfortunately. :(

They aren't capable nowadays, no talent to either write or perform anything worth listening to, it's all about image, that's all, and don't even get me started on the utter crap that they call hip hop or (c)rap.

Music is entertainment. But it's been sabotaged of late by the the Simon cowel view of music.

Just look what that has done.

The privatised view of singing by putting children In to fixed competition.. has so far.

Got rid of the charts.
Got rid of top of the pops.
Got rid of music that has any sort of cultural significance
Got rid of teen age movement in culture and society.

Reducing music to singing competition .where are all the high steest records shops?

Where are the music shows?

Thank you Mr Tory Simon cowel , the destruction of youth cultures lynch pin .
ROY.
