Just going slightly off thread, referring to my post about Hogan-Howe, former Ch. Ins. Mike Neville says the afore mentioned buffoon took the decision to move away from recruiting  ex-servicemen as he didn't want "that type of person" and instead focused on students instead, who mostly believe stop and search is racist, so is it the case that all forces have adopted this policy? Because it might explain the tenure of our own numpty Fahey.

Ex-servicemen, never thought of them as recruits for the police force but what a brilliant improvement they would make O0

Just thinking of other jobs where they'd be an asset - bodyguards, security, bouncers, though I expect the most experienced would go into the secret service  :-\

The student lived in Burnage and was a pupil at Manchester Grammar School.

Floral tributes have been left by mourners, and police are trying to establish the circumstances of the murder.

Robin Tetlow-Shooter, said his friend "was the son every parent dreamed of: loving, caring, kind, yet ambitious and determined.

"We were deeply disappointed to hear that the boy charged with murdering Yousef has been freed on bail... This has caused us much distress and it has sent out the wrong message to the young people who followed this case with interest," Mr Tetlow-Shooter said.

'freed on bail'  :o

Full inquest to be held 15th March

The family of Yousef Makki have said they hope to get "some desperately needed answers" after a coroner granted a full inquest.
The 17-year-old Manchester Grammar student died in a fight with Joshua Molnar in Hale Barns, Cheshire, in March last year.
Molnar was cleared of murder and manslaughter, but was detained for possessing a knife.
The inquest will be held at Stockport Coroners Court from 15 March.
The family had campaigned for a full inquest, saying matters surrounding his death "have not been sufficiently aired".
Yousef's sister Jade Akoum has previously said: "We have a lot of unanswered questions."
She said an inquest "could help us answer those questions that we did not get answered during the criminal trial".
In a statement on Friday she said: "We are grateful to the coroner for resuming the inquest into Yousef's death. "
Yousef's mother, Debbie Makki, 55, died last month.
"My mum was anxious for an inquest to take place in order to bring some closure and we are deeply saddened that she was not there to hear today's decision," said Ms Akoum.
"We remember and mourn both her and Yousef today and we look forward to the inquest bringing us some desperately needed answers."
In April a probe into Greater Manchester Police's handling of the teenager's death by the Independent Office for Police Conduct was dropped after it had found "no potential misconduct by any individual officer".

To get some sort of justice you need to be able to afford the best lawyers in the land ,which the others did
