Suppose you could be doing something worse.

Well that was 60 years ago,
There was no tv then just the radio,
And whether you liked Tarzan or Tom mix,
There was nothing like a visit to the Flix.

                     There was the Osborn,Rex,and Metropole,
The playhouse,Princess and the New Royal,
                     The Tower,Mosley,and the Don.
And many more that like a dream have now all gone.

kids  couldnt get in for "A" films without an adult and it was common for kids to hang about outside a cinema
and ask adults to take them in. the Mosely had 2 houses. While other cinemas like the Don were continuous.this meant you could see the film twice if you wanted,But you would be thrown out if the cinema was busy. One time at the "Don" Rodney and me were on our 3rd viewing of "Because Your Mine" Mario Lanza, when we were interrupted by an attendant flashing his torch. My Mother mi Mam "Handy Edi" had come to get us,because it was so late.

Such interesting times Ron, you should have been a historian, there was a film industry in Manchester in the 1930s

The film studio was in Rusholm I believe.Old Mother Riley and George Formby made films their. And they were a good laugh. But serious films were no match for the Americans
