Yousef Makki trial

Yousef's mother said one defendant 'moonwalked' past her and the other one 'smirked'

is that because they've got away with it?

Sentences seem extremely lenient, the victim didn't stab himself - private prosecution?

For once I have to agree with my local MP who said if that was two boys off a council estate they’d be banged up .

Powell also mentioned  the race aspect, these three tried to stick up a drug dealer because they thought they were "gangstas", when you get down in the gutter with drug dealers these are the consequences I'm afraid.

Yousef Makki, 17, died in a fight with his friend, Joshua Molnar, now 18, in Hale Barns, Cheshire in March 2019.

During a trial Molnar argued he had acted in self-defence, and he was acquitted of murder and manslaughter.

It can now be revealed Adam Chowdhary, then also 17 and a friend of Yousef's, was the boy on trial with Molnar.

Was he the one who 'smirked' or the one who 'moonwalked' past the victim's mother :-\

Molnar acting in self-defence knew where to aim, two against one?

In this case I have to agree with some comments that if the assailants were white and from a poor background they would have been found guilty of murder or manslaughter, how they got away with it is beyond belief , but if you can hire the best lawyers in the business  :-\ .

The early release of a teenager who stabbed his friend in the heart has been described as "crushing" by the dead boy's family.

Who was it who said the justice system needs overhauling?

Well, I agree.

Lawyers for the family of a 17-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed have asked judges to grant a fresh inquest into his death.

Joshua Molnar stabbed Yousef Makki with a knife during a row in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, in March 2019.

Peter Weatherby KC, representing Yousef's family at a judicial review, questioned the "fanciful" version of events presented as having happened.

Any decision on a new inquest is expected later this year.

Molnar was cleared of murder and manslaughter following a trial, but was jailed for 16 months for possession of a knife in a public place and perverting the course of justice by lying to police at the scene.

He claimed self-defence and told the jury that knives were produced after they argued and there was a "coming together", the court heard.

An inquest later recorded a narrative conclusion, ruling out both unlawful killing and accidental death.

The family of a 17-year-old boy who was fatally stabbed have won their fight to have a fresh inquest into his death.

Joshua Molnar stabbed Yousef Makki with a knife during a row in Hale Barns, Greater Manchester, in March 2019. He was cleared of manslaughter and murder.
An inquest later ruled out both unlawful killing and accidental death and recorded a narrative conclusion.

Yousef's family were last year granted a judicial review, which has now quashed the original findings.

Alison Mutch, senior coroner for Greater Manchester South, had concluded she could not be sure of the "precise sequence of events" leading to Yousef's death.

But the High Court, sitting in Manchester, has rejected that conclusion.

Lady Justice Macur and Mr Justice Fordham handed down their ruling and directed a fresh inquest be held before a different coroner.

Yousef's family, from Burnage, Manchester, were granted permission for a judicial review last year.

They challenged Ms Mutch's assertion that there was insufficient evidence on the "central issue" of whether Yousef's killing had been unlawful.
