There  seem to be a lot of phrases which have begun to be overused e.g.  'as I'll ever be'  - yes would suffice,
any which make you cringe?

"Safe". That word, that was once so inoffensive and innocuous, is now a major source of irritation to the (almost) half of the population who are still able to think for themselves. 'Stay safe', 'let's help keep each other safe', and all the rest of it. It is fast approaching the stage where the word is becoming the exclusive property of timid and brainless sheep.

Children in TV adverts,  so cringing when it's obvious the advertising people put words into the children's mouths,  they would never say the spiel they have to say imo
