I believe the Manchester Evening News archives should be preserved online for future generations to have accessible content available online .
I was chasing several old articles and photos of my late grandfather who featured in the paper a number of times in the late 1970’s but without knowing the exact dates he featured it’s an impossible task of tracing them .
