Manchester cancels bonfire displays

Manchester's eight council-run bonfire and firework displays will not go ahead this year due to "unworkable" Covid status checks.

The city's council said the events would be impossible to manage as people would be asked to prove their Covid status, either through vaccination or a negative test.

"This is not a decision we have taken lightly," a spokesman said.

The eight park gatherings regularly attract more than 100,000 people.

In that case, the 100,000 people need to gather together and stage their own bonfire. Any council official or Stasi officer who attempts to get in the way can play the role of the Guy. Ouch!

So bonfires are out but pubs clubs and sports venues are open, I'm confused  :-\
Anyway we do our own every year with family, always have since my kids were little, it's a tradition and must continue imo.  :)

The pubs and clubs and sports venues will not be open for much longer. Especially the pubs. The regime absolutely hates them.
