yep Eleanor McEvoy best known for 'Woman's Heart' song which is featured on the Album of the same name and is Ireland's biggest selling album selling millions worldwide is coming to Levenshulme.

supported by the fantastic Tim Edey band

Its a major coup and is only able to take place because of nu routes and arts council funding

Following on from its sell out Bob Dylan Festival weekend Acousticfest returns with a Fresher's week special in association with Manchester University Amnesty Society Group and Manchester's MAG (Mines Advisory Group) - who clear Mines in War Torn Areas.  Manchester's Gig For Peace is currently top of the Google ratings beating the likes of Annie Lennox, Corinne Bailey Rae and James Morrison.....
Annual 'Gig for Peace' afternoon for World Peace Day

M19 Bar
Starts at 12:00 noon

Twenty one acoustic acts and bands from around the world including a Celtic folk band from Canada appear in this special afternoon festival.

The event marks the UN International Peace day and is raising money for MAG (mines Advisory Group) who help clear mines in war torn areas.

Highlights nclude an appearance from the Claymore band a Celtic Folk band from Calgary in Canada. They play the Union on the Saturday night, before returning to headline the festival.

Other highlights include an appearance from Joni Fuller who despite just being 16 has appeared on national tv and has supported Phil Collins on his world tour as well as appearances in a number of summer festivals this year.

THe full line up of acts is John the Dancer, Flying Brew Bags, Jamie Foley, Jason Johnston, Northern Origin, Tony Kehoe, Peter Aldridge, S Copeland, Dave Dove Plus in 1st Floor Acoustic room Matt Cortlett, Stephan James Buckley, Chris Harding, Counter Culture, Leon O’Neill, Native State, Anthony Dalton, Lorelei LOveridge, Lucy Allen, Joni Fuller and the Claymore Band.
