that's interesting Arthur, have you got anything on Walter Greenwood, author, seems to have a connection with Salford?

I've heard of him, but I haven't come across any of his work - there are various collections of Lancashire verse that he may be includedin, Samual Bamford isthe  most easily found of the dialect bards inthe region, but for me, Brierley was always the most interesting. I'll see what I can find on Greenwood though

crikey why didn't she marry him I could be a millionairess - I knew he was famous for something couldn't remember which book, there's a building (or block of flats named after him in Salford)

Thanks Arthur for taking so much trouble :)

yes, shame she didn't see his potential as a writer - must read the book myself now - curious - heard of it often - never opened it
