Can anyone tell me about the British and Colonial meat store which was in Moss Lane c. 1800/1900's.
I'm from Manchester but never heard of it until now so I am curious.

Try Local History section at Manchester Central Library. Nothing on Google.

Hi pimms,
Do you mean British and Colonial or Home and Colonial? When I use a Google seach I'm getting references to Home and Colonial. An article about
the Maypole Dairy chain
written by David Clare mentions that the Watson family, who owned the chain, sold their shares to Home and Colonial in the mid 1920s.
