Will it be red?...will it be read?...will it have a 'NEW' sign
?? Exciting isn't it?
What a disappointment...no red text....no 'New' sign! I'm going to bed!

Yes the does seem to be a bug in the forum software that means coloured text doesn't work.
But the 'new' function is working fine. It uses cookies to show new posts you haven't seen since you last visited. Anyone who hasn't seen your message before will see 'new'. But you don't see it because you are the author.
Hope that helps.

Click on the 'profile' button at the top of the page. Then under 'Account Related Settings' make sure you tick 'hide email address'.

If you want it to be READ tell it a RED story, like — “Male strawberry said to female strawberry, if we hadn’t been put in the same bed together we wouldn’t be in this jam now.”
