Cultural love-child of facebook and meetup
« on: 14:56:20, 01/05/09 »
Hello.

I've been working on this new ning site for cultural listings in Manchester... http://cultureclubsocial.ning.com/

simply put, I want to list all poetry/theatre/dance/exhibitions et al in one spot.

The great feature of this site is developing the social side of it.. you see something you like, invite a friend from the network.  Or once in a while a few of us may be going to an event as a group.  The people involved so far are near enough all involved in the creative arts in some way...

All pretty casual... Among other smaller events, like Scratch Poets in Chorlton, Odder's mini Cine Picture Show etc, we've seen The Barber of Seville, Rachmaninov's 3rd (the one from that 'Shine' film) and Macbeth.

There's always so much going on though, so it's sometimes difficult... we're going to start doing mystery nights where we all meet up and draw the event out of a hat!!  That's how much choice we've got in Manchester, it's great.

If you get time, please have a little look... if you like it, just jump on, you don't, let me know.  Feedback always welcome.

Cheers,

Stu.

Cheers Celeste, I'm always a fan of a friendly welcome...

Did you mean the pics on the front page or my own artistic endeavours??

The pictures on the front page are being made up of a little mystery picture quiz that I started off... (just a kind of pictural tig)... Someone guesses the right location and it's their turn to post a piccy to puzzle the people.  So it'll take a little time to build up.

Yeah, I'll try and link in what's going on... think the next big adventure maybe to the Ballet!  Never been in my life before, but it's got to be worth a craic... it's romeo and juliet, the famous music's the one they use for the apprentice theme http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZB3sd2BAxys

I'll keep in touch...

Naaa, unfortunately not got that wonderful Nor'n Irish twang... I'm a Manc mate.... Although my accent kind of varies who I'm speaking too, but when I'm drunk it's pure Manc.

I just love words... and that's a good one!

That'd be lovely... much obliged!  I'm going to try and promote the 'Free Events' as much as possible, a) 'cos I'm broke b) I reckon you don't need to spend a fortune to be out and about... and c) I really like making lists of things.

Good luck with your aquatic audio-tastic extravaganza on Sunday.

Cheers, Stu.

A photography events group you can try with a similar name, running since 2007

is Camera Culture Manchester Group, an alternative to the traditional camera club

Events are run by a professional photographer, in Manchester and beyond.

If you like photography, art, food, and socialising with like minded people give it a try.

For the next event you can try for free see the diary page of

www.cameracultureuk.com

You could write a summary of your page for the Manchester Encyclopedia Manclopedia too - http://manclopedia.co.uk/files/Content/index.php5?title=Main_Page
