Tactile Affection returns to Nexus Art Cafe on Thursday 13th August with sets from Kalbakken, John Dorr and DBH. We are really lucky to be hosting the homecoming date of Kalbakkens UK tour on what promises to be a super special night. Don't miss out on the chance to see three of the finest leftfield acts the northwest has to offer. Doors open at 7.30 with the acts starting promptly at 8 and its a mere £3 to get in.

Alongside the bands Sonic Affective will be soundtracking the night with the usual mix of intersting tunes from around the globe. Check out the acts below.

Kalbakken is a suburb of Oslo where the city starts melting into the forest; it is also a half Norwegian sibling duo playing reworkings of traditional Norwegian folksong half recalled from childhood and meticulously researched in libraries round Scandanvia. There readings of these songs encompass use of original melodic lines, which are then evolved into new arrangments and structures by the group.

John Dorr http://www.myspace.com/johndorrmusic
John Dorr is a solo artist based in the moors somewhere between Leeds and Manchester. He writes songs from fragments of melodies/beats/drones/swells which are looped then built upon with more layers to create music that can either caress your soul into a dreamlike state or disturb your ears with intense walls of sound. Every sound is made from his voice or Fender Telecaster and can be recreated perfectly live. His live performances are thought provoking and intense, with a string of gigs played to enthusiastic crowds.

DBH http://www.myspace.com/dbhguitar
Acoustic finger pop from guitarist of the Nick Drake school of playing. Original compositions and intersting reworkings of some familiar songs.
