WhitebeckCourt is a 16 storey tower block, 44.2 meters tall, located on MoorwayDrive in Manchester and constructed in 1967 as part of ManchesterCorporation community housing. Previously, before the tower was built, the land it currently stands on was full of rows and rows of prefab homes, but they were all demolished in favour of several towers andWhitebeck was one of them.

In May 2008 Manchester City Council submitted a bid to the Departmentof Health Extra Care Fund 2008-11 with a proposal to transform anexisting vacant tower block into a mixed tenure extra care scheme withcommunal facilities. In August 2008 it was announced that the bid wassuccessful and Manchester was awarded £6.54 million to deliver thescheme.
