christopher . . . if ken wants to put a place name after his 'Sir', he should be allowed to do so . . . blokes a treasure.

I quite fancy Sir Ken Dodd of Shuffty . . . (OK, I know Shuffty is not a place - but, it should be!)

What about Dame Celeste of Random Post !?

How tickled I am to receive a reply :D What a wonderful day for posting messages TELENY.
Life is tattyfilarious. Indeed where would we be without Ken and the Diddymen of Knotty Ash?
Not only is Ken a great comic he has a marvelous voice and has sung nineteen Top 40 hits.
Tears was a chart topper. That's not too bad for a comedian.

By the way, I think we should all make a promise to each other not to drift from the subject-matter of the threat . . . its great for psycho-analysts, but, how the the hell did we get from the paranormal to ken Dodd?!

Oh, hang on . . . I've just read back . . . I think it was me - SORRY !  :-[

I'm very versatile with props !?  ;D

In addition, my voice has been professionally trained . . . as a matter of fact, they laid newspapers down for it !?!  :D

(The last joke is was brought to you courtesy of Mr Ken Dodd - who, still, has not received a knighthood).

And isn’t likely to be knighted with his funniest joke being the one about the Liverpool comedian up in court for allegedly evading taxes and being tried in a Liverpool court with a jury of Liverpudlians!
Funny things happen to me on my way to the Forum

The best advice Ken Dodd ever gave was uttered in the High Court when he was accused of not paying his taxes . . . "never trust an accountant who wears mittens" !!   :D

The best comedy comes from adversity.

Just to put things back on track, I've read that some local authorities are planning to 'get tough' this Halloween with 'trick or treating'.

Most people have no objections to 5 - 10 year olds knocking on your door . . . (accompanied by the parents, ofcourse) . . . but there is nothing more intimidating than to open the door and see a pack of 18 - 25 year olds with ill-fitting costumes asking for money!?

What kind of mentality produces this infantile behaviour in people that are, virtually, adults?

Halloween is very popular in America...personally I think that allowing children out after dark to knock on complete stranger's doors and demanding sweets is just asking for trouble!!
