David Dunne returns to Funkademia on 22nd May 2010

"Best gig since Space in Ibiza, what a crowd, what music..." David Dunne following his set at Funkademia on 27/03/10

David Dunne's DJ career spans over twenty years with most of that playing dance music on the Radio. In 1989 he found himself showcasing music from legendary clubs like Hacienda on Manchester Piccadilly Radio with his "Isometric Dance Class" show. At that time he gave DJs such as Justin Roberston, Jon Da Silva & Mike Pickering their first radio exposure.

He then became one of the founder staff members at Kiss 102/105 and presented shows that aired in Manchester and Yorkshire. During this time he gave Funkademia some big props and helped Manchester get to know us. Kiss changed over to Galaxy FM and with stints at Atlantic 252 and Ministry of Sound under his belt he joined Hed Kandi. Since then he has traveled the world playing at the words biggest clubs and his radio shows aired in over 24 countries. His Nu Cool show airs every Sunday morning on Galaxy FM from 2am with regular guests including Greg Wilson, Graeme Park, Good for the Soul & Jason Vereker.

In March David made his debut at Funkademia and his statement following the gig really does make us proud to invite him back for a main room set on the 22nd May. He is very well known for his house sets, but David has an unrivalled love and knowledge of funk, soul and disco, which you will see on the night.
