Most people enjoy researching their own Family History .. it is an interesting hobby which can be shared by all members of the family. A word of advice. Start as soon as possible. I read so many messages in which people
say I wish I'd asked my grandparents or even my parents a lot more questions about the family. They may not
be able to tell you all you want to know but a little bit of information is better than no information. It's a great starting point .. you may be able to progress from there by looking at books in your local library and then going back to ask your close relations a few more questions.

Manchester Community Forum will endeavour to compile a list of professional genealogists specialising in families from Manchester but are unable to recommend a particular one. If any members have used a professional who has traced some of your ancestors in the Manchester area please post a message telling us about the assistance you received.
