BBC receives 545 vuvuzela complaints over World CupPage last updated at 11:05 GMT, Tuesday, 15 June 2010 12:05 UKParaguay fan with vuvuzela World Cup organisers say "fan traditions" should not be banned The BBC has received 545 complaints about the sound of vuvuzela horns during its World Cup coverage.
The corporation is considering showing coverage that cuts out the noise of vuvuzelas on its red button service.
On Monday, World Cup organisers ruled out a stadium ban on the plastic horns, which can reach 130 decibels, following complaints from players and fans.
Experts say it is impossible to cut out the horns without affecting commentary and crowd noise.
The BBC says it has already "taken steps to minimise the noise". Continue reading the main story
It would sound unnatural
Institute of Acoustics president Trevor Cox on cutting vuvuzela noise Can you block vuvuzelas? Cup chiefs rule out ban "If the vuvuzela continues to impact on audience enjoyment, we will look at what other options we can take to reduce the volume further," a spokeswoman said.
The BBC is considering cutting out some of the vuvuzela noise on the red button service but says a final decision has yet to be made.
On Monday, Trevor Cox, president of the Institute of Acoustics, told the BBC News website's Magazine that vuvuzelas were tuned to a similar frequency to speech tones.
If broadcasters tuned out it would dampen the commentators' voices, he said.
"It would sound really horrible to notch these out - if one coincides with the vowel sound e, you won't be able to hear the -es in the commentary. It would sound unnatural," he said.

Brazil 2-1 Korea DPRSelecao began their campaign with a victory but did not have it all their own way against the tournament's lowest-ranked teamThe five-times winners struggled to penetrate in a tight opening period before Maicon and Elano scored after the interval to set them on their way to victory.
But there was no end to Korea DPR's defiance and Yun-Nam Ji guided a consolation effort past Julio Cesar with just over a minute remaining.
It was certainly an opening period that went against expectations with the Koreans strangling the midfield and denying the Brazilians any space.
After spending the second half of the season on loan at Santos, Manchester City forward Robinho made a bright start with a number of sparkling runs.
Carlos Dunga's Brazil were determined to make an early breakthrough but were limited to strikes from outside the area.
Elano drilled over and Robinho and Michel Bastos also failed to trouble the Korean goalkeeper Myong-Guk Ri.
Korea DPR grew in confidence and Tae-Se Jong and Jong-Hyok Cha each had efforts on goal as the minnows managed to press forward.
Kaka slipped through for Robinho but the forward failed to worry goalkeeper Ri in Brazil's only penetrative move of the first half.
Brazil's Inter Milan defender Maicon had another long-range strike pushed away by Ri as the South Americans grew more desperate for a breakthrough.
Kwang-Chon Ri dragged wide after a breakaway from the impressive Jong set up more pressure for the Koreans.
Robinho was always Brazil's best option and another sparkling break created space for Bastos to hit a drive that was deflected over but Dunga's side were held at the interval.
Elano had another couple of efforts blocked as Brazil poured forward after the interval.
But they finally broke through the stubborn defence to take the lead nine minutes after the restart.
Elano picked out the wing-back's over-lapping run and the Inter player fired in from a narrow angle.
Without an international goal since September, Luis Fabiano wasted a good opportunity to extend the advantage.
But Elano doubled the lead when he was picked out by a wonderful pass by Robinho and guided a shot into the corner of the net in the 72nd minute.
However, the Koreans left their mark when Ji broke into the area and clip into the back of the net late on.

Last time we won the World Cup there were two players with the same surname, both beginning with the letter C - Charlton, we have in the current team two players with the same surname, both beginning with the letter C - Cole

Argentina 4-1 Korea RepublicArgentina show plenty of class to see of Korea Republic 4-1 in Johannesburg in the lunchtime kick offArgentinaA hat-trick from Gonzalo Higuain, the first of the competition, inspired Argentina to their second straight victory as Diego Maradona's side took a huge stride towards the knockout stages.
An own goal from the unfortunate South Korean Chu-Young Park gifted Argentina the lead early on before Higuain took control.
The defensive Koreans were undone in the 17th minute when Chu-Young diverted Lionel Messi's free kick into his own goal at Soccer City in Johannesburg.
Argentina doubled their advantage in the 33rd minute when Higuain scored his first with a neatly taken header at the back post that looked to have put his side in total command.
Chung-Yong Lee offered the underdogs a glimmer of hope, however, when he capitalised on a woeful mistake from Martin Demichelis to pull a goal back on the stroke of half time.
The Bayern Munich defender was found wanting and robbed of possession by the midfielder, who beat Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero with a calm finish.
The game was played out to the backdrop of Maradona rowing with his Korean counterpart Huh Jung-Moo on the touchline as the duo clashed for the first time since Jung-Moo man-marked Maradona in the 1986 World Cup - when the South Americans came out on top.
Despite the gift offered to the Koreans, Maradona's side never looked like relinquishing their lead this time either.
It seemed more a case of how many goals they would win by as they continued to dominate after the break.
Jung-Sung Ryong produced a string of fine saves to somehow keep his side in the contest, the best of which saw him deny the impressive Carlos Tevez and Higuain in quick succession.
But Jung-Moo's side refused to give up and wasted a golden chance to equalise just before the hour mark.
Chung-Yong Lee broke swiftly down the right before sending Yeom Ki-Hun clean through on goal, but with just Romero to beat he fired wide and his chance to become a hero had gone.
Higuain then took charge, producing two clinical finishes in the final 14 minutes as Argentina cruised to a comfortable win.
Argentina (4-3-3): Romero; Gutierrez, Demichelis, Samuel (Burdisso, 23), Heinze; M Rodriguez, Mascherano, Di Maria; Messi, Tevez (Aguero, 75), Higuain (Bolatti, 82)
South Korea (4-4-2): Jung Sung-Ruong; Oh Beom-Seok, Cho Yong-Hyung, Lee Jung-Soo, Lee Young-Pyo; Lee Chung-Yong, Ki Sung-Yeung (Kim Nam-Il, 46), Kim Jung-Woo , Park Ji-Sung; Park Chu-Young (Lee Dong-Gook, 81), Yeom Ki-Hun.

Montolivo SUPER !!!

Gilardino ... anonymous!!! I prefer Balotelli to Gilardino....

However I have seen a good match of italy.. we have some problems in attack.

there are a good Defense (chiellini - cannavaro) and midfield (de rossi - montolivo )... we don't have a crack in attack (for example Balotelli)
I know very well Gilardino ... he don't know to play with ball on feet... he is similar to Inzaghi...

Buffon ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OXkyInk-luA )

DeRossi according to me is the new Gerrard. ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsrpTO8BDLw )

Chiellini ... (ManU wants him) ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCkREgTVr-4 )

Gilardino ... the violinist ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nx70-jyL0Tg&feature=related )

Pirlo .. the playmaker ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wozHjtfhBHg )

Montolivo ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ikyc4POGRg )
