Hi Maggi
I remember Miss Verity, or was it Mrs. Verity.  She used to be Miss Spooner and then married, and her name changed to Verity, can't remember whether she used Miss or Mrs.  Do you remember those horrible old fashioned bottle green shorts we had to wear for PE.
I remember Mrs. O'Reilly.
Was you told about the ghost story in the attic of the Domestic Science Rooms?

Tuesday told me she had to wear bottle green knickers at Lymm High School, I
think she got quite nostalgic about them so I found a pair on Ebay for her - shame they were outsize ;D

Hi, I went to St. Josephs from 1969 to 1976 (about). I remember Sister Judith the headmistress, Sister Louise and Sister Monica. Sister Monica was raped and left the convent; became a civilian again, I believe. Does anybody remember the name of the physics teacher, a man? I was in the classes that had the names like Agnes and Maud (or something).

I was at St.Josephs 1947 - 1951.  Sister Margaret Mary was the Headteacher. Sister Margaret taught shorthand & typing, Mrs.Rourke (she was wonderful) taught senior English, Miss Macdonald-Needlework, Sister Teresa-Housewifery,Miss Mather- Maths, Miss Darlington-Science, Sister Louise-History,Miss Jackson-Art Miss Larcher-French.  Does anyone out there remember me, Maureen Columbine or Margaret Codd?  Loved the school.

I attended St Joseph's 1964-1969 and sorry to say I was very unhappy there :-[. My sister Anne-Marie Scholes loved it and still has our old green uniform. Do you remember the green knickers and green PE skirts, Not sexy at all. Poor Mrs Hampson used to try to teach us French. Miss Body taught Music she was nice. The new school opened when my sister started about 1962 and she was pictured in the school book. The school closed not many years after I left. Does anybody know the history and have any photographs. After leaving school I went into nursing and then onto Midwifery and spent several years as a community Midwife. Loved the chapel, hated PE with Miss Verity and those cold showers. Miss school dinners, cornflake cake and custard. Memories :smitten:

Me too Sylvia   I went from 1964,
never had a day off school from starting at 3 and a half,
until I went to St Joes,  I was very unhappy, and would do anything to stay off at home.
I became a legal translator, but not from the teaching at Joes.

I remember Miss Verity, Mrs Hampson, Miss Connor, (cookery) Miss O Connor, (music) to name a few,
I liked the two "Connor" teachers

I was there between 1972and 1976
Remember Sister Judith and Miss Verity. I remember the male physics teacher but can't remember his name. Does anyone remember the French teacher, miss A'Hearne or the wonderfule English teacher, Miss Kingston?
Living in Australia for last 18 years but remember school with good memories
