how come you went to school i n Lymm, also intrigued about the ferry in Cadishead and where it went to

I think you could get a ferry between partington and cadishead years ago going back to the 80s

I am sure I remember me and my cousin getting the ferry from Partington to Cadishead as teenagers so we could go to the pubs, couldnt in Partington as no one would serve us as my cousins dad was know ot to many there. It would be in the 80s

I hadnt heard of that disaster though but at that time I was living in Urmston we visited my aunt and uncle and cousins who live in Partington

Talking of old schools though cannot find any pics of my old one at Urmston which was St Clements can find pics of the church, I think that the school was knocked down after we moved out of Urmston not sure to be honest

Go on to google and click on Images  (above right) type in St. Clement's school Urmston and then click search


I bet you went to the Curzon cinema, I always wanted to go there :)

Yup saw Grease and Star wars at the Curzon had a balcony and used to sit up there

Think they had changed ferrys by the time we used it as remember it had a little tiny cabin but was a tiny tiny little motorised boat

No problem, I used the ferry myself from Partington to Irlam around 1980-83, the photo above was found at a car boot sale.

Have you tried 'Friends Reunited' ? they have a page dedicated to St Clements.
