Dr Liam Harte - Lecturer in Irish and Modern Literature, Manchester University.

Talk Title - Cathleen Ni Houlihan, by W.B. Yeats's 1902.     
Liam will examine the background to the play,the performance itself (which featured Maud Gonne in the title role) and the role of the play in the 1916 Rising.  He will also examine the profound impression it made on those in the audience, which included Patrick Pearse and Constance Markievicz.
