Music workshops in Manchester
« on: 23:41:31, 27/04/11 »
Was wondering what music workshops people would like in Manchester that there are not enough of? I run all kind of workshops for a music school in Newton heath and we wanted to run a  few free introductory classes. We have previously offered samba drumming, songwriting, band development, all with industry specialists.

Just wanted a few ideas.  :) What does Manchester need?

I think you need to speak to Phil Korbel at Radio Regen (0161 226 1912), or the Zion Arts Centre bods (0161 237 5012).  They are both plugged into the kind of people you're aiming at.  Or you could speak to someone like Start in Salford (0161 351 6000) - they work with people on all kinds of creative projects.  Some for people with Mental health issues, some for over 50s or local youth, some open to everyone, they run workshops and have a studio, I believe.  Certainly those organisations can tell you what's been popular in the past, and point you at areas of need or other people who could help you more.  Best of luck!  :)
It's nice to be important, but it's also important to be nice.
