I remember going there as a child. It was sooo cold but had great fun!! Anyone else remember?? I am assuming the building is no longer there....Derby Street.

Can you still skate?  Last time I went I nearly did the splits. I used to take my younger son to Altrincham, but we moved for a while to Congleton, then back to Sale where he started at Primary school, and it was too much on his plate then.

What do you mean 'STILL'?? Ha Ha...I wouldn't call what I did skating. The 'Rink' I took my girls to in Plymouth wasn't real ice so that was a doddle!! Only trouble was it was such hard work that it is the only time I have had pain in both ankles at the same time! I suppose it was because the boots were heavy and the 'ice' wasn't slippery enough! :-\

sounds much better than the dreadful artificial rink they've built in piccadilly gardens over the fountain for the christmas period - a real eyesore - i like the fountains

Hi Tuesday, yes the building is still there, apparently it now belongs to Lancashire Dairies.
