FW Schmidt
« on: 21:38:01, 11/02/07 »
Hello, I have joined the forum hoping that someone will post some information about photographer FW Schmidt.
I have a very attractive 1920/30, large portrait photograph signed by Schmidt of which the subject is a girl of about 8 years of age. The setting is very simple, she is shown head and shoulders on a black background.
I know that Schmdt had a studio in St. Annes Square M/C, and that the Rylands Library have images of the 1930'sfilm star Robert Donat ,(who originated from Withington),which were produced by Schmidt.
Any other info. would be of great interest to me. Thank you. Romy

I sure do ( wasn't there an actress with that name in High Society, but spelt Holm)?
