I am looking for a photograph of Beech
Mount Maternity Home.
I know that there is one on the Manchester City Council images of Manchester website, but it only shows the Home from the corner of Rochdale Road, and I really would like one of the full frontage if possible.  My daughter was born there 50 years ago, and it would be nice to have a better photo. if one exists.

Thanks

My friend's father, Dr Mullen, used to run the place.  I'll ask her if she has any photos. Bear with me tho, she lives a long way off.

Unfortunately most of the building at the back has been demolished, there is only the block you can see from Rochdale road still there. And the main entrance as gone.

Hi Maryellen, my friends replied to say that regrettably, they have not a single photo of the hospital.  When I think back to all the places I've worked, I realise I never took any pics of my places of employment either. I suppose there might just be someone out there who had a pic taken of them leaving hospital with their new born infant tho.  Good luck. O0

I found this in the Manchester local images library. (For those who don't know the place) My oldest son was born there in 1965

I copied this off Google Earth, so it must be fairly recent. It's now part of the Mental Health Authority.

Hi I have just joined this group today after finding out today that I was also born at Beech Mount Maternity Hospital in May of 1951, lived in Blackley, then moved to Stockport.
