m'cr shops - gone but not forsgotten..
« on: 17:15:27, 10/02/13 »
lewis's, woolworths & the underground market are gone (but not forgotten).. can anyone remember the name of the boutique opposite picadilly gardens that was designed like a cave? it had white walls that were made to look like a cavern with weird-shaped glass windows..

Not the Mcr underground I went through a hippie stage at 16 17 and got most of my clobber there I realise they cannot stop open waiting for me and my mates to trample back through time but it is sad.

TManu years ago, tere was a boutique at the bottom of Oldham Street with a weird and futuristic decor. It was called (I think) 2 7 11 pronounced Two Seven Eleven.   May be the one you mean???

Just to "try" again, I think it was 4 7 11...... not  2 7 11!!!

I worked at Chelsea girl in 1971. I used to sit on this pedalstill in the middle of the shop and watch for shoplifting!! Loved the clothes!!

I'm almost sure it was called 2001, my older sisters used to go in there.

It was on Oldham st. facing Woolworths. One of my favourite programmes at the time was The Tomorrow People, so I loved that shop!
