Can Manchester be green?
« on: 16:42:43, 15/06/07 »
How can Manchester reduce its carbon emissions ?

The government wants the congestion charge ? Will that make a difference to the carbon emissions ?

I think more investment  in the public transport system is required first.

Other issues and suggestions welcome

Yes cycling would be a good start. I think one of the main issues is that people dont give a [censored]* about global warming and its effects.
People need to be more aware. Has anyone heard of these new eco checks that have started in Manchester ?

Have you seen the torrential weather we are experiencing lately ? Its mid June and there are floods in Sheffield. I think this has something to do with global warming.
