They've not had a case of spontaneous combustion in 121 years so someone did it.

There's big difference between accidentally and deliberately though.  The problem will be stopping people from having a go at suspects before anything is proved.  They've bailed the lad they arrested, but they are looking for at least another one so it's not clear yet.

Justgiving shows over £1.3M in donations and almost a quarter of a million more in Gift Aid.  I saw earlier that there are builders offering to rebuild it for free too.

The Fire and Rescue Service are pretty good at determining whether a fire is started deliberately or not.

It appears that this one was started deliberately, ergo someone is responsible. In that case there is no problem in at least sectioning them lest they next time pick on somewhere full of people.

By the time the lad is proved guilty or innocent it will be too late--- because if he is guilty he ought to be made to remove every burnt corpse with his bare hands .
Things cannnot be left for such a long time I know, but  photographs will be taken and he should be made to look-- when he is found guilty if indeed he is.
We shield children too much from the results of their actions They grow up never realising
-- If I do this that will happen--. When they do something stupid or dangerous they are seemingly never to blame.
They are unable to assess  risks and by being over protected they can not see real danger
 when it presents itself.
In many ways they are allowed an incredible amount of freedom and seem worldy - wise  but without having first learnt basic lessons of survival. It is all the wrong way round.
Oh, if only we could turn the clock back for some things! Joynson

The lad they arrested on suspicion has been identified on Twitter and his family have been advised to leave their home after the avalanche of death threats.   They are looking for at least one more lad they suspect may have been responsible, so it's not completely clear cut yet.  It's to be hoped they get it sorted before anyone sets fire to someone they THINK did it.....
