How do I find 'my computer' and 'control panel' on windows 8. Also where is the 'windows button' which is usually at the bottom left of the screen?

Whilst not a I.T. expert, I am a W8 user. Scroll bottom right corner then sweep up and in, to reveal a side panel where you can select e.g, tiles, settings etc.

I downloaded a free program 'Classic Shell' from which you can choose to have windows7
screen desktop. You can then use this as a start screen OR the 'tiles screen'

If you hit the WINDOWS KEY & X at the same time on your keyboard. a list should pop up allowing you to access many parts of your computer easy.
This includes control panel and File Explorer.

File Explorer is another name for My computer.

Works on both windows 8 and 8.1
On 8.1 you can right click the windows icon to get the same thing.

Microsoft can have you chasing your own tail. When Idid a Refresh they wanted authentication, which was,nt allowed and sets off codes by E Mail, ad infinitum.
Today they said I should update to 8.1 to be ready for  10 download. This 8.1 would,nt download of course I already have it.
Have downloaded Silverlite, has anyone noticed any difference?
