That is true but imagine the outcry if a candidate did something to exclude the Urdu speaking community

That would make big headlines in the tabloids, they'd be all over it

An independent candidate was given a one minute slot by the BBC to put forward his policies and chose to broadcast it in Urdu, is this what multiculturism has brought us to? seems like total disregard for anyone who didn't belong to his community.

Can't see the problem, I'm sure they'd do the same in Urdu speaking India and Pakistan, being as these countries are so religiously  diverse and Multicultrual,  ;D ;D ;D

If that independent guy gets in as mayor, will the council tax payers then have to fork out for a full time translator (probably one of his family) as well?  >:( >:( >:(

The guy spoke English he just chose to speak Urdu for the broadcast, that is what I thought was offensive.

Whats the betting the new mayor, (odds on it will be Burham)  will put a tax on diesel cars plus a congestion tax. >:(

The MEN as a article about the buses being repainted orange, like before deregulation. So who will be paying for that I wonder? ::)

To be honest i never liked them that colour ???

If  Burnham does get in we'll all know about it . I find it interesting though that the opposition parties in Parliament are moaning about a possible large majority being no good for democracy, Manchester Town Hall is like the Kremlin.

There’s cranes in the sky building luxury apartments while the numbers in the doorways are going up all the time

Andy Burnham

A lot of people I know refused to vote because they had voted previously that they didn't want a mayor

I was in town with my wife a while back and we were approached by a big issue seller , after declining to buy one he asked my Missus for money, I pointed out to him he shouldn't do that and he became belligerent telling me he probably earned more money than I did , cry me a river Mr Burnham

They voted for one of Corbyn's cronies, I didn't expect anything else. Now we'll have the unedifying spectacle of Steptoe strutting about and claiming the credit for Burnham and Rotherham basically seizing the North West for Labour.
