Free Trade Hall,Corn Exchange, Brexit.
« on: 19:38:17, 26/06/18 »

Brexit fits so well on the Manchester Forum. Look back to why we had a Free Trade Hall.
The anti Corn Law League, campaigned against the Gov/landowners high tax on all corn products, controlling prices and imports. Sound familiar?
Great Mancunians stood up and made their voices heard and to bring about change and freedom to export and import.
Politicians and nappies must be changed often, and for the same reason

Yes, it was sad event, but finally resulted in the repeal of the Corn Laws.  Our school speech days were held in the Free Trade Hall  which was a great  memorial to the Peterloo masacre in 1819.  I was facinated by the coats of arms of all the mill towns that were displayed around at the top of the walls around the auditorium.

We have been subservient to the EU for so long I've lost sight of what we are good at.
