Introduction
« on: 14:52:49, 10/10/07 »
Hello, I'm new here. Currently, I live in the USA, in Chicago. My partner is British, and we're tired of fighting the seriously stupid and dysfunctional US immigration system to keep her here.

We can marry in Britain, something we can't do here. We're thinking of re-locating to Britain, probably the Manchester area, as her grandparents are there and have offered to put us up for a while.

So I'm here to try to get a flavor of the place. It's a bit scary to consider such a change, I'm in my 40's, have a good job (I work in book publishing) and friends, and I'd have to give all that up to move.I don't know if I could get as good a job there, but I do want to be with her.

I enjoy RPG gaming, Bicycling and caving, and hope there's a "scene" for that there.

Thanks.

Holly

Hello to 'The Windy City'
I'm sure there is plenty of 'caving' if that's the same as something called 'pot holing'
The Peak District has plenty of limestone caverns to explore near Manchester

...not sure you would ever have a problem finding RPG companions
Manchester is an extremely interesting central 'base' and you should have no problems whatsoever once you find your bearings  8) O0

I know you work very hard, you would be bored if you didn't have a job - your Grandfather seems very clever
