If anyone goes to one of these Speed Dating events would you please submit a report to the Forum. I'd be most interested to learn more without the trouble of attending such an event myself. If possible please include a few pictures.

Many thanks in anticipation.

I'd imagine the overall standard of the punters is fairly ropey.

Probably wise to bring a barrel-scraper.

I recall having the misfortune to 'be the taxi home' for one of my sisters at her local singles night.

Sat outside in the car park waiting for her and seeing the 'local talent' exit brings back some grotesque memories

I don't think that any talent that's available would actually be all that bad. I was a tag along for a friend to a speed dating night at the printworks a while ago n I was rather tempted me self to join in.   If anything though its a little give and take, mixed bag so to say.  u get both ends of the stick, Good & Bad.  It would be a good idea though  :)

Aye, quite possibly, if one attends such things with no great expectations and in the 'just going along for a laugh' type spirit, it might make for a change from the usual night out.

My judgement still remains clouded by the grotesque memory of sitting in the car park observing growler upon growler exit  the building.   :o :o

Good business for the floor-strengthening industry no doubt  ;D

I suppose it would make a change from the usual night out but i can just barely imagine the thought of waiting outside watching the extremelly little talent that there is coming out and then seing wave after wave of Rick Waller wannabe's literally running (if they can!) for the nearest kebab house or pizza shop!  :D

Take it your sister had a good night then O0 :P

Funny how it appears that only men replying to this thread have been to these nights by 'accident, demand or proxy' have an opinion. Innit? O0

Cheers Love, welcome to the funny farm.

Speed-dating - not my thing really as I tend to do when I'm out anyway so why pay to do it and why advertise yourself as a 'last chance saloon' desperado?

Indeed!! Truly Shocking!! :o :o

Twas many moons ago but those memories are deeply painful and have created a 'mental wound' that may never heal.

Alas ole sis emerged empty-handed having found no suitable beau.

Unlike her friend who emerged ten minutes later from round the back of a skip  :o

And her friend emerged from round the back of the skip looking like a something out of the x-files all stick thin like Victoria Beckham . . .  Must of been all that extra weight pressing against her while Mr Waller was trying to find Mr Twinkie n get it up (Blue pills recomennded buddy!)

U Know what, imagine if u actually let someone like Rick Waller or Johnny Vegas get on top of ya . .  You would have a permanent imprint on your bed . .  & It could save the NHS Millions on fat removal surgeries . .

Doc:  "Right Mr Vegas/Waller (Insert name of anyone else lol!!!)  just jump on top of the patient as hard as you can.  This wont hurt a bit" :P

Seemed a clear-cut case of "Cruelty to Skips"  :o

Yer average skip doesn't deserve to have that sort of sordid nonsense carrying on nearby.

This 'speed-dating' craze might be alright for a bit of a laugh, but I doubt a chap will find serious girlfriend potential from a woman armed to the teeth with other geezers phone numbers.

Somewhat like dating the local slapper in the boozer...only a fool takes em seriously.

Or he's got a 'thing' for skips!!  ;D :o
