St Joseph's Hostel, 21 New Hall Road
« on: 17:25:17, 16/09/20 »
I have just started to research my wife's family history. We know very little about her mother's childhood. We do know that her mum was a resident in the hostel in 1939 as she appears in the National Register of 1939 as living there. We know nothing about the hostel who it catered for and the background of the residents. If anyone can shed any light on the hostel and the residents I would be very grateful. My mother-in-law was a Julia Broughton and she would have been 18 in 1939.
Many thanks

I believe this was possibly connected to St Joseph's Children's Home / St Joseph's Industrial School.

Do you have your mother-in-law's birth cert? What address is on it?

Does anyone know if St Joseph’s Hostel is still there or even moved to somewhere else . Trying to trace my Aunt Carmel CORCORAN who was there in 1964
