I don’t know if the Rags will be interested but Scunthorpe have released some of their senior squad following their relegation from the Football League. Might be a bargain or two among that lot? Oldham have done the same thing, which is even better, because they could get these lads over to “The Theatre Of Dreams” for a chat over a pint at barely two hours notice.

You’ve really got to move fast these days if you’re serious about strengthening your squad.

THE Mayor of Greater Manchester is behind a plan which he believes could "protect the future" of Oldham Athletic "for the next 100 years and beyond", by giving fans long-term control of the football club.

Andy Burnham is spearheading a new task force to give supporters an active role in the future ownership of Latics.

It’s my belief they could potentially achieve so much more - and expand supporter ownership of our clubs - if they were working with the backing of mayoral combined authorities.

Since when has it been in the remit of a Mayor to get involved in 'protecting the future' of football clubs?  ???
Have all the other issues affecting the GM area been settled,  is there nothing more pressing that this clown can get on with?

German football will let transgender players CHOOSE whether to play with men or women - because their FA say it 'DOESN'T jeopardise the integrity of competition' - even as other sports tighten up their rules on trans athletes  ::)

Every time I see a lass ‘playing’ football I am haunted by the vision of some poor bloke standing in a long queue at the chip shop……..🥲

But joking aside, I know what you mean, Parky. We are all supposed to pretend that women playing men’s sports is absolutely wonderful, and they are every bit as good and talented at it, and that the entire spectacle is worthy of our time. But it very clrarly isn’t, and until all of us (females included) admit this obvious truth out loud we will continue to get more of this carp pushed into our faces.

The ball lies in our court, so to speak.

Just to add to my somewhat blunt post , I have no problem with womens football for those like it , I’m just sick of those who are trying to put it on a level with the mens professional game .

Pay wise in the US it is on a level with the men's game, female National team sued for pay parity and was awarded £22m in back pay with equal pay to the men's team going forward.  :o

Which is all very well and good if they are playing to the same crowds as men and the crowd are paying the same ticket price ,
