Mayor calls for delay.

"Major changes are needed" before a scheme aimed at cutting emissions can be rolled out in Greater Manchester, the region's mayor has warned.

Andy Burnham has asked the government to delay the Clean Air Zone (CAZ) by lifting the legal obligations it imposed on the area's 10 councils.

Mr Burnham said he was committed to improving air quality but believed more time was needed to achieve compliance.

Can it be delayed? dont think so. Labour asking Cons.and it has been in High Court already.
Caz signs are up,though the one on our road vanished.
No cameras that I can see yet.
Derbyshire MP [Con.] backs the protesters.

Burnham is saying that once the levels of clean air are reached the CAZ charge will be removed and will not morph into a congestion charge.  ;D
   Does anyone believe that?

This is how ill thought out it is,a self employed van driver is expected to change to a newer or new van,the old one could be scrap value.
Taxis, are they commercial even the cars? while identical car is OK.
Most are less than 6 yrs old,so I'm missing the point.
Plus, many small vans or campers like VW T 5s are daily drivers for some, who also will pay.
