Congratulations to City, great goal from Rodri and two outstanding saves from Ederson followed by fantastic scenes with the supporters a the end, well done.  :)

Steve, has that made your day?

Well, you know, it’s not bad, is it? 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😀😀

I seem to recall, along with everybody else with a memory span longer than ten minutes, that the people who are rabid with hatred for Manchester City are the very same people who laughed when the United Football Group bought the club back in 2008. It was only going to be a plaything for rich men, the narrative went; they will put together a chess set of stellar names on massively inflated wages, achieve nothing, and then get bored with the whole thing and hike back to Abu Dhabi. Oh, how they mocked, as I’m sure we can all recall. 😄

Fifteen years later they are beside themselves with rage because it did not work out anywhere close to what they said it would. They have been horrified to discover that Sheik Mansour and his colleagues started out with extremely sound plans both on and off the field, that they have invested very wisely indeed whilst refusing to be drawn into any Dutch auctions, and that they have ensured the loyalty of the local community by revitalising a previously very seedy and very neglected inner city suburb of Manchester. They have brought jobs and prosperity in addition to endless silverware in the trophy room.

And now, of course, City find themselves being assailed by endless phoney “charges” in endless kangaroo courts, just like Donald J Trump in a different area of public life. Honestly, when you are hated so ferociously by institutions mired in corruption and dishonesty you absolutely KNOW you have morality on your side!

Sadly not, I couldn’t get the tickets or the time off. My lucky sod of a brother was more fortunate; he went to Wembley with a few mates for the FA Cup Final, and the next day they jetted off to Turkey and had a week-long holiday prior to the contest in Istanbul. They have all been season ticket holders for at least thirty years, mind you, so they can usually get access to the biggest matches. The waiting list for season tickets is currently more than 120,000 long, so there is little point in even applying right now.

You would have to know someone who worked there to be in with a chance.
