Broken and neglected it is meant to be a garden in memory of two GMP officers who gave their lives on the frontline. Next month marks the 11th anniversary of the murder of PCs Nicola Hughes and Fiona Bone.

But a section of a tribute to them outside Hyde Police Station has been allowed to remain in a state of disrepair for months. Today after it was highlighted on social media and the MEN contacted the force, "do not enter" police tape was wrapped around it.

You'd think that the colleagues of the two officers would undertake to keep the memorial to the two officers in good order, how many of them pass it every day? In the article one even says he works at that nick.
Couldn't they spare time to maintain it out of respect to these women, after all they all seemed quick enough to demonstrate their grief at the time.  :(

Thats a shock, havn't passed it in a while, but it's only a few yards from pavement and the entrance.
If I were a cop I;d think that could have been me. What about family?.
Looking at the pic,it looks as if it didn't stand up to the heavy rain we've been having. Though it's been there years, doesn't look very sturdy,to contain soil.

I absolutely agree with you both,  perhaps now,  because of the publicity some action will be taken O0

SCL, these two officers were proper coppers, the sort who believed in arresting criminals and making them face up to the consequences of their actions. Their kind are terribly old fashioned in today’s modern police “service”, who most likely view them with venomous contempt.

If you think I am exaggerating, please attend a Freedom Protest sometime soon.

I have seen many examples of what you describe on YouTube Steve inc. elderly people and women assaulted and threatened by the 'bobbies' , it's nothing short of oppression and the uniformed thugs revel in their power.
