Hi, you could check St Joseph’s Home, Patricroft Eccles Manchester the records are held at
Caritas Diocese
3 Ford Street
Salford M3 6DP
Manchester

Phone 0161 833 1635
Email- [email protected]

They state on their site records from 1953 but St Joseph’s Home was set up in the late 1880s at that time some children sent to Canada. I would say they ha stopped sending by early 1900s Sometimes the home was known as “orphanage” but not so children came from poor families or broken homes. Also as it was known as Salford Rescue Society children came from varied places in Manchester. Hope this helps.
