Celeste, it is not like it was in the old days. If you were a German national and your house was in the same street where Joseph Goebbels had his main residence then your goose was pretty much cooked as soon as the Allied air raids began to intensify; from February 1942, when Air Marshall Harris took command, in other words. These days it is different; the IDF have conducted precision strikes against specific individual addresses at various locations in Tehran, and this has led to the elimination of numerous high ranking officials and nuclear scientists working for the regime. Whilst it is impossible to guarantee that no civilians will be caught up in the mayhem we can, at least, rest assured that the numbers will be very small indeed and that every care has been taken to avoid killing any of the innocents. Israel's intelligence services and the air force have accomplished a magnificent task and the world is now a safer place as a result of it.

The overthrow of the Mullahs in Iran would be a wonderful thing for pretty much everyone apart from the Mullahs. This is something that the fake media are far too stupid and/or corrupt to recognise. Iran has one of the youngest populations on the planet, possibly even THE youngest (I would have to look it up). The young people of Iran are very Western-looking in their view of the outside world. They had nothing to do with the folly of the 1979 Revolution that their parents and grandparents inflicted upon them, and they yearn to be freed from the heinous rule of the fanatical old men who currently run the shop over there. The other beneficiaries of a change of regime are the Arab countries in the Middle East and their people. Despite a certain amount of public rhetoric from their governments they would be delighted to see the Mullahs regime brought down, because nobody can rest easy when they have no idea what those lunatics are planning to do next.

The events of the past 48 hours should be a cause for celebration, not a cause for mourning.

Yes Steve,  Israel's attack would free them of the dictators and maybe the mullahs,  once they've had a taste of freedom they'll be independent.

Violence continues in Northern Ireland for third night

Violence continues in Northern Ireland for third night.

BBC correspondent Phil Mackie reports from Ballymena, Northern Ireland following the country's third night of disorder, which officials have described as racially-motivated.
Local residents said they had "barely slept" as a result of the disorder, while another local said the violence had been "simmering for a very long time".
On Wednesday night in Larne, masked youths attacked a leisure centre and set it on fire.
The council said the council had been providing emergency shelter for families following the clashes earlier this week.

I suggested this possible scenario several years ago on a different forum, but everyone scoffed and thought I was crazy. But I don't care, I will say it again; if the regime in Tehran can be removed then it is entirely possible that Iran could begin a new era of peaceful co-existence with the outside world, even including Israel. This is especially likely if the IDF turn out to be Iran's liberators, the force that contributes the most towards freeing the Persians from the barely continent geriatric fossils who are holding them in thrall right now. We must not get carried away, of course, but there are sound reasons to be optimistic about the medium to long term future. 🤞

Iran launches missiles at central and north Israel after the Israeli military confirms it has carried out a number of strikes against Iranian nuclear infrastructure sites
  • Israeli emergency services say at least 10 people have been killed in the strikes with more than 100 injured
  • US President Donald Trump says the US had nothing to do with the latest Israeli strikes on Iran but adds that a deal can "easily" be done between Iran and Israel
  • Tehran's oil ministry says the Shahran oil depot in the capital was hit in the latest Israeli strikes
  • Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian is threatening a "more severe" response if Israel doesn't stand down
  • The strikes come as Washington and Tehran were due to resume talks on Iran's nuclear programme on Sunday - but now, the talks have been cancelled, according to mediator Oman

More RAF jets are being sent to the Middle East amid intense fighting between Israel and Iran, the prime minister has said. Sir Keir Starmer said the military aircraft, including Typhoons and air-to-air refuelers, were being sent "for contingency support across the region".
He said the situation was fast-moving and there were ongoing discussions with allies, adding: "The constant message is de-escalate."
The UK last announced it had deployed jets to the region last year, when the government said British aircraft had been playing a role in preventing escalation.

Well,  the de-escalation doesn't seem to have worked,  and now more military aid is being sent by the U.K. with France doing the same.
Wondering if this is wise. :-\

Smarmer has deployed the RAF in order to stifle the fact that the nasal no mark has been forced to allow an investigation into the r*pe gangs, classic deflection, but both those decisions will make him very unpopular with members and supporters of a certain religion.

Just waiting now for the "we're living in fear" whining from said community.

Last night Slynews and BBC were full of the Middle East but GB News stuck with the r*pe gang story, speaking to some of the young women that went through those terrible ordeals.

Full credit to all the people that have fought to bring this to public attention and found the facts,, well done GB News Charlie Peters, an excellent investigative reporter and it would be remiss of me not to mention Tommy Robinson , who's demonisation began when he spoke out about it before anyone.

I'm sure Maggie Oliver will fee relief that all the work she's done for these girls will finally bear fruit.

Stalin gets no credit for this.

US President Donald Trump rejected a plan by Israel to kill Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, three US officials have told BBC's US partner CBS News.
Trump reportedly told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that assassinating Khamenei was "not a good idea", according to one official. The president has not commented publicly on the report.
The conversation is said to have happened since Israel launched its attack on Iran on Friday.
During an interview with Fox News, Netanyahu did not directly confirm or deny a report from Reuters that Trump had vetoed a plan to kill the ayatollah.

"There's so many false reports of conversations that never happened and I'm not going to get into that," the Israeli prime minister said.
"But I can tell you I think we do what we need to do. We will do what we need to do and I think the United States knows what is good for the United States and I'm just not going to get into it."
An Israeli official told CBS News that "in principle" Israel does not "kill political leaders, we are focused on nuclear and military. I don't think anyone making decisions about those programs should be living free and easy".
Israel first launched an attack on Iranian nuclear infrastructure and other targets on Friday. The two countries have continued to launch massive strikes at each other since, with attacks entering a third day.

    Harriet Harman once said,
"Childhood sexual experiences, willingly engaged in, with an adult result in no identifiable damage."

The labour party are up to their necks in it, that's why they didn't want the enquiry, as for the enquiry, we'll have to wait and see.
