Other links didn't work for me. ???

Neither does Burnham.
Vote for Nick Buckley in the Mayoral election, he says he'll hold a referendum on the office of Mayor, if the people vote for abolition, he'll take the petition to Parliament to have the position abolished.
But people need to vote because Burnham was elected by a small number of voters due to low turn out, all Burnham has done is rip off council tax payers with his 'precepts' (three so far and bet on a fourth next year for his bus foray)

Andy's gone quiet on rough sleepers. The pics I see are astonishing, migrants are coming from many UK areas because they know someone in Manchester. They are not being taken in because it is a crime.

It’s a pity that some very wealthy organisation or people cannot organise a massive public advertising campaign against Burnham like peel holdings did when the congestion charge was mooted  some years back .

Andy should go. Why? because I want a man with vision, inovation.
Perhaps I'm missing something, building building, more of the same.
I have always been proud of Manchester,up there with the best, but all I can see is
Jodrell and a shopping mall copied from others.
The only shineing light is The Docks,Lowrey center,a blank canvas, but all they see is a buiding opportunity.
They could have had a small scale rapid transport system to view the area, preferably high above ground. A link to the Trafford,or Etihad.
Did'nt the first railway come here? Since then ,old trams, new trams, old buses new buses, new lanes same speed.
A hundred years, stuck stuck in the same mind frame. Time for change. No,that was let slip through the fingers long ago by small minded men.

Agree with most of that but do you know any other politician who would give 15% of their salary to help the homeless?

The mayoral element of council tax in Greater Manchester will rise in the spring to subsidise the cost of the Bee Network, it’s been confirmed.

Didn't see that coming  ::)  oh wait, yes I did.

Angela Rayner wants more mayors in cities,  they'll have more power than the councils,  MPs and possibly affect government decisions.

Interesting.

Now, what was the word the Germans used to use for individuals with such power, back in the day?

Ah, yes. "Gauleiter".

That was it......

Claretwoman on here, says she and others can't get on it as the bus only takes a few passengers because of the distances between pick-ups.

Greater Manchester Combined Authority has been busy splashing the cash on panels to push its grand strategy to be “a place where all voices are heard and where, working together, we can shape our future.” Whatever that actually means…
UK DOGE’s The Waste Files has uncovered that while King of the North Andy Burnham isn’t busy laying the groundwork for his next leadership bid, he’s been getting on with some other, equally pressing matters. The GMCA has forked out a staggering £472,500 contract to fund its ‘Equality Panels’, supposedly to help tackle “structural and organisational prejudice and discrimination” and “advise, support and challenge” Greater Manchester’s political leaders on matters that cause ‘injustice and inequality’. A further £52,500 has gone to a Faith and Belief Advisory Panel, and £54,000 to the Greater Manchester Youth Combined Authority—bringing the grand total to £579,000. For that you could:
Fix 10,527 potholes.
Buy 50 police cars.
Provide 2,245 weeks of child daycare.
And that’s just the live contracts. In 2021-23, the GMA splurged £650,000 on these panels. The taxpayer may have a view on which should be prioritised. UK DOGE

Don't they realise that's just what gets up people's noses?

Are they having meetings about tackling knife crime?
