Events are taking place in France and the UK to mark the 80th anniversary of the Allied invasion of France
US President Joe Biden and King Charles III are among world leaders attending ceremonies
Five years ago, 225 veterans travelled to Normandy for commemorations – this year there were 23
On 6 June 1944, tens of thousands of soldiers landed on five beaches in Normandy, northern France
Commemorations are also taking place at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire for UK veterans unable to return to France

A humbling Pilgrimage. I notice some new buildings and the new Memorial shown today.
So glad I went when able.
