England manager Gareth Southgate said "if I can't enjoy this moment then it's a waste of time" after his side reached the Euro 2024 semi-finals [by beating Switzerland 5-3 on penalties.

The Three Lions' moment of jubilation was made even sweeter for Southgate as he celebrated with supporters following the recent "difficult personal" criticism he has faced in Germany.

"Every now and then surely there has to be some enjoyment in this job," said the England manager. "
"I can't deny that when it's [the criticism] as personal as it has been in the last few weeks on a human level, that's quite difficult

Well, there we go. In the final against Spain on Sunday. Who would have thought it a couple of weeks ago?

"He is an unbelievable leader of men. Prior to his involvement in the England team, it was an exceptionally heavy shirt to wear for players, but he has transformed the team into a group of players who want to wear the shirt, who want to play for him. That kind of leadership is priceless."

I don't watch England games so I've no real interest tbh, but after reading about comments from Lineker, Shearer, Wright, Ferdinand & co., maybe one of these clowns could step in, they seem to have the answers and they won multiple trophies in their international careers playing for England.

  Didn't they?

Or there's always Mike Bassett  ;D

No way! Still can't stand the bloke. I would have felt the same even if England had won. Their defeat makes it less complicated to dislike the man rather a lot.
