Useful information Celeste,
I received a letter a couple of weeks ago advising me that I may qualify and inviting me to apply, unfortunately though I spent 50 years working and paying tax and because I receive a small pension from one of my periods of employment there's nowt down for me, like thousands of others.

I take comfort from the fact that all the lazy barstewards that have never and will never go to work and contribute will be looked after.

My wife, who works in the community as a Health Care Assistant, spent today working with one of her regular clients on a council estate in a nearby town. All around the estate the "job seekers" were congregating in their gardens, laughing and joking and knocking back large quantities of beer and cider. And smoking like chimneys, too, some of them; unemployed C2D2's are the only ones who can afford to do that these days, of course.

It must be nice to not have a care in the world....

Puts me in mind of Kennedy's speech -

You may have a low qualifying income, but if you have saved for your old age or a new roof, you are penalised for every extra quid you have.
Politicians and nappies must be changed often, and for the same reason

Do? For THIS country? Absolutely nothing, I've joined the ranks of the 'couldn't care less', at the rate that the corrupt government and its cheerleaders are provoking the Russians it won't matter much though.
